At LibraryCon Live 2023, attendees discovered a range of great comics and manga for readers of all ages from independent publishers ABLAZE, Fanbase Press, and Red Comet Press.
We’re looking forward to our favorite online event of the year, once again proudly sponsoring Library Journal and School Library Journal’s LibraryCon Live! on Thursday, November 9, 2023. The free virtual event celebrates its ninth year with a full day of programming featuring comics and graphic novels, and is an excellent opportunity to catch up on readers’ advisory recommendations and professional development.
LibraryPass is excited to be exhibiting at AASL 2023 (Tampa Bay, FL) for the first time! In addition to demos of Comics Plus and hosting a session on dealing with book challenges, we’re also bringing along a small library featuring some of our favorite publishers’ comics and manga that we’ll be giving away to one lucky school librarian at the end of the show!
From mature takes on the superhero stories they may have grown up with, to other popular genres like horror, historical and literary fiction, or memoir — older readers can read all the comics, too!
A panel discussion featuring representatives from Image Comics, Silver Sprocket, and Yen Press spotlighting some of their favorite comics for older readers. They’ll also offer tips on recommending readalikes to non-comics readers based on their favorites in other media, and downloadable title lists to make it easy to add them to your own collections.
