On February 25, 2021, our panel of experienced educators—Jesse Karp, Shveta Miller, Julie Ann Price, Susannah Richards, Ph.D., Jana Tropper—discussed their process for using comics to support readers of different abilities, how they partner with other stakeholders, and how they measure their success. The 60-minute presentation was moderated by LibraryPass’ John Shableski.

Great job. I love that it was just 5 years ago I was still fighting for reading teachers to allow students to read graphic novels. Happy with how mainstream they have become.
This was an excellent webinar;great focus ,often overlooked, on parents’ concerns.
Knowledgeable presenters ;glad I made it a priority to watch. I have a solid graphic collection but need to expand comic collection.
Thanks!!
I just tried to print my certificate of completion, but my name did not appear. Do I ned to wait a few hours??

Are any of the digital comic books, graphic novels and manga titles available in Spanish or other languages? If available in other languages, where can they be purchased as well as get MARC records for Destiny?
Idella, there are plenty of foreign language comics available, in their original form as well as translations of English comics into other languages. What’s available will vary by which distributors you’re working with, but we currently have ~150 titles in our Comics Plus collection and are working on growing that significantly this year. https://lpfullcontent.librarypass.com/products/language:5/sort:selling/order:0
Another wonderful webinar from LibraryPass – Thank you so much for all of the great information! As a high school librarian, I am constantly striving to get my students to read – and I am a huge proponent of graphic novels, comics and manga. So often when I recommend these books to the students, they are pleasantly surprised to hear that these books “count” as ones they can choose – and I am working with some English teachers to bring more of these books to the classroom and to as many students as I can!
Thanks for this wonderful feedback, Larissa, and kudos on being a great advocate for comics in schools!
