Most popular titles on Comics Plus in 2025

2025 was a record year for Comics Plus, with readers in 3,500+ libraries and schools in the US and abroad checking out more than 2 million graphic novels, manga, and picture books — thanks to our affordable unlimited, simultaneous access model and library-friendly publishers.

“This is an exciting milestone to be sure,” said LibraryPass’ CEO, Ian Singer, “but I firmly believe that in short order, that number will exceed 10 million. Why? The quality of the content in Comics Plus and our focus on working with only library-friendly publishers who enable us to offer unlimited, simultaneous access to all the titles in our corpus is a key differentiator that our partners are embracing at an accelerating rate.”

Comics Plus offers a deep, diverse collection for readers of all ages and interests without obstacles like holds, wait lists, or borrowing limits that impact which (and how many) titles are available to them at any given time. As a result, librarians are able to offer larger curated collections that appeal to more readers, and don’t have to worry about popular bestsellers dominating their materials budget.

Plus, new titles are added to Comics Plus every Wednesday, so there’s always something new for readers to explore!

Most Popular Titles of 2025

Milk & Mocha Comics Collection: Our Little Happiness (Andrews McMeel)With a collection as deep and accessible as Comics Plus, “backlist is frontlist” isn’t just a clever phrase, it’s also a perfect description of what circulated the most in 2025, as Milk & Mocha Comics Collection: Our Little Happiness by Melani Sie (Andrews McMeel) remained our most popular title overall, a position it’s held ever since it was first added back in the summer of 2023.

Originally a webcomic, it’s a perfect example of a title that appeals to readers of all ages, and judging by its enduring popularity, it’s possibly one some readers return to now and then for a re-read.

TOP TITLES BY AGE LEVEL (Overall)

Since older titles are as easily accessible as new releases on Comics Plus, and we make a point of curating our featured lists by hand without prioritizing publication dates, it’s rare for a new title to take over the top spot on our annual lists. When a new title becomes popular, it’s usually an organic push from readers, which is exactly what happened with Milk and Mocha back in 2023.

Last year was the first time we took a snapshot of popular titles that were added to Comics Plus in the current year, so it was interesting to see how that list looked with a full year of data on the more than 2,000 titles that were added to Comics Plus throughout last year.

Will any of these challenge Milk and Mocha for the top spot in 2026? We’ll see what our readers have to say about that!

TOP TITLES BY AGE LEVEL (2025 Additions)

Seeing new releases from Pocket Peaches and Big Nate here isn’t a surprise, and Fullmetal Alchemist is a great example of an older series finding a new audience (our version of the Netflix effect?), but The Guy She Was Interested In Wasn’t a Guy at All didn’t come to us with a lot of fanfare, but immediately found its audience on Comics Plus anyway.

Meanwhile, our adult readers really like their spicy manga!

Offering equitable access to digital content for readers of all ages and interests is part of Comics Plus’ core mission, and it’s made possible by more than 80 library-friendly publishers who also believe in that mission. Whether they have the most popular titles or fly under the radar serving readers in less popular genres that aren’t typically well represented in other library collections — all of these publishers understand that some titles take longer than others to find their readers, and that libraries are where many avid readers turn to discover their next reads.

TOP 10 PUBLISHERS (By checkouts)

NOTE: We’ll have our usual breakdown of the most popular titles at each age level in a future post, including lists for overall titles and new additions for 2025, so keep an eye out for that. In the meantime, continue to read all the comics with Comics Plus!
