Job Summary

We are looking for a Collection Development Associate to join our growing team. This role is responsible for trafficking and managing content and metadata files from LibraryPass’ content partners, including the creation and maintenance of high-quality metadata for all content types. Working within a collaborative and service-oriented environment, they will engage directly in metadata work, implement metadata standards and best practices, and collaborate on cross-functional projects, in support of business goals and objectives. This position works closely with the Directors of Collection Development and Content Management.

Our ideal candidate has 2+ years experience with Excel and Content Management Systems, with specific experience in comics or ebook distribution and metadata management highly desired. Strong communication and organizational skills, plus a voracious interest in understanding our core markets will make you a key contributor to our growing organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Trafficking, updating, and ingestion of publisher-provided metadata and content files for both manual data entry and mass importation into the LibraryPass CMS.
  • Coordinate with Director of Collection Development and Director of Content Management to prioritize and schedule content ingestion; optimize weekly output for relevance, reach, and volume.
  • Follow all established policies and procedures for metadata and CMS requirements.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation for all collections- and content management-related policies and processes.

Key Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working with Excel and Content Management Systems (CMS). Experience in comics or ebook distribution and metadata management is highly desirable.
  • An interest in learning about the needs, behaviors, and trends within the library and comics publishing industries.
  • Understanding of metadata standards and best practices for digital content ingestion, formatting, and maintenance.
  • An interest in learning about the library and digital publishing landscape, including emerging trends in comics, graphic novels, and educational content.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments, including marketing, customer engagement, and content management.
  • Strong attention to detail in managing metadata accuracy, following established policies, and maintaining up-to-date documentation.

Target Salary

The approximate pay range is $45,000 – $55,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be dependent on factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities.
