We’re looking forward to our favorite event of the year, once again proudly sponsoring Library Journal and School Library Journal’s LibraryCon Live! on Thursday, November 14, 2024. The free virtual event celebrates its 8th anniversary with a full day of programming featuring comics and manga, and is an excellent opportunity to expand your readers’ advisory recommendations.
Be sure to check out our featured session, Comics & Manga Programming in Schools and Libraries (11am ET), where librarians Tabrizia Jones (NYPL), George Purdu (Wyandotte Public Schools), and Danielle Schafer (Chesterfield County Schools) will discuss managing and promoting comics and manga collections, with examples and advice for engaging admin, educators, and other librarians; expanding readers advisory; and practical programming ideas with measurable outcomes.
This year, in addition to our main Comics Plus booth, we’re also hosting an Indie Comics Spotlight with booth chats spotlighting a few of our favorite indie publisher partners (Avery Hill, FairSquare Graphics, and Rosarium Publishing). Stop by to learn more about each of them, including highlights from their backlist and upcoming releases, for teens and adults.
Some of our other partners are also exhibiting at LibraryCon Live this year, including Dark Horse, Fantagraphics, Image Comics, Mad Cave, and Oni Press.
Registration is free, attendance is virtual, and the entire event will be accessible on-demand for three months afterwards!
