LibraryPass is excited to be exhibiting at ALA Annual (San Diego, CA) for the first time! In addition to giving demos of Comics Plus and talking about our recent addition of picture books to the collection, we’ll also have a couple of author signings in our booth, and we’re giving away another collection of comics and manga to one lucky library at the end of the show!
Author Signings
On Saturday, June 29th, Erin Dealey and David Booher will be giving away and signing copies of their books in our booth (240).
- June 29 @ 11am PDT: Erin Dealey‘s original career goal was Olympic Gold Medal tetherball player. When that didn’t pan out, she became a teacher, theater director, playwright, actor, mom, and author. Her Sleeping Bear Press books include Christmas Ahoy, Snow Globe Wishes (A 2023 Anna Dewdney Read-Together honor book), K is for Kindergarten, and Deck the Walls: A Wacky Christmas Carol. She lives in northern California with her husband and welcomes any opportunity to connect with young writers & readers around the world.
- June 29 @ 4pm PDT: David M. Booher is a multiple Eisner and GLAAD-nominated writer of comics, television, and film. His comics include Killer Queens (Dark Horse), Rain (Image/Syzygy), and the all-ages fantasy series Canto (Dark Horse). He has also written stories for Firefly, Dungeons & Dragons, and most recently, Ghostbusters. His LGBTQ-led Killer Queens was featured in the New York Times as a must read in honor of Pride Month. A lawyer by training, he lives in Los Angeles with his husband and the true brains behind their operation—their adopted greyhounds.
- June 30 @ Noon PDT: Morganne Walker joined Saturday AM with the debut of Soul Beat in 2017. In addition to creating manga, she contributes logo designs and professional commentary to many of Saturday AM’s signature events, including their annual March Art Madness art contest and #SummerofManga short story competition. An Indiana native (also known as a “Hoosier”), Morganne studied at Ball State University, receiving both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Architectural Design. She lives in Indianapolis, Indiana.
