UDON and Saturday AM

LibraryPass, Inc. has announced a distribution agreement with Media Do International Inc., the U.S.-based subsidiary of Media Do Co., Ltd., Japan’s largest eBook distribution company, to make select English-translated (manga) works from their publisher partners available to libraries and schools through Comics Plus. With Comics Plus, readers can access thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga through their school or library—with unlimited simultaneous access for online and offline reading.

“We are excited to partner with LibraryPass to provide a diverse catalog of compelling manga series to readers. Manga is one of the most requested content categories at libraries, continuing to capture the attention of a growing audience. MD-i is thrilled to bring engaging stories across multiple genres to a variety of fans,” says Daihei Shiohama, President and CEO of Media Do International, Inc.

“Manga is incredibly popular with readers of all ages and most libraries are unable to keep up with demand beyond a few key series because it’s such a deep, diverse category,” said Guy LeCharles Gonzalez, LibraryPass’ Chief Content Officer. “We’re excited to partner with Media Do to affordably expand the range of manga that’s available to schools and libraries with unlimited, simultaneous access for their readers.”

UDON Entertainment and Saturday AM are Media Do’s first publisher partners to join Comics Plus, with unlimited, simultaneous access to popular series like Kill la Kill, Persona 3, Street Fighter, Apple Black, Hammer, and Saigami now available to schools and libraries.

“LibraryPass is definitely an up and coming leader in the digital distribution of comics and manga for the library market. We are very excited to be working with them to expand our reach so that more readers can have access to the UDON manga catalog,” says Erik Ko, Publisher of UDON Entertainment.

“We launched our Saturday AM brand to connect young readers who love manga with more diverse characters and situations that matched their own. That we can now bring our global artists and series to LibraryPass’s unique digital platform is incredibly exciting,” says Frederick L. Jones, Founder of MyFutprint Entertainment, LLC, anime entertainment brand and digital publisher of the flagship magazine and brand, Saturday AM.
