LibraryPass has announced an expanded distribution agreement with Yen Press to make more of their popular manga series available to libraries and schools through Comics Plus. With Comics Plus, readers can access thousands of digital comics, graphic novels, and manga through their school or library—with unlimited simultaneous access for online and offline reading.
Founded in 2006, Yen Press has quickly risen to become one of the largest and most prolific publishers of manga and original graphic novels in North America, with titles like Svetlana Chmakova’s Berrybrook Middle School series, BonHyung Jeong’s Kyle’s Little Sister, and Okina Baba and Tsukasa Kiryu’s So I’m a Spider, So What? among the most popular already on Comics Plus. They will be adding more than 1,000 additional titles to the platform throughout the summer, including Yotsuba&!; Konosuba: God’s Blessing on This Wonderful World!; Delicious in Dungeon; Sword Art Online; and A Polar Bear in Love.
“In our short time working together, we have been thrilled with the reach that LibraryPass has given us into classrooms and libraries,” said Mark de Vera, Sales & Marketing Director at Yen Press. “With so many of our titles joining the program, we look forward to many young readers getting to enter the wonderful world of manga for the first time through the services of Comics Plus!”
“The demand for manga is greater than ever, and we’re thrilled to be able to expand the availability of Yen Press’ impressive catalog to more schools and libraries,” said Guy LeCharles Gonzalez, LibraryPass’ Chief Content Officer. “Few libraries can afford to offer a truly expansive and diverse selection of manga with restrictive single-user licenses, so we appreciate Yen Press’ increased support of our mission to help libraries affordably expand their reach and engagement.”
