“The library market is very, very important for us… Once librarians started to realize that comics is a great way to get kids reading, then they really became some of the best champions out there.”

Terry Nantier, Publisher, NBM/Papercutz

Founded in 1976 by publisher Terry Nantier, NBM has grown to become one of the most respected indie comics presses, with titles showcasing the diversity of comics from North America and Europe. Its sister imprint, Papercutz, was founded in 2005 and publishes great graphic novels for all ages.

Their best known titles include Abelard, Phantoms of the Louvre, and To Afghanistan and Back from NBM; and Geronimo Stilton, Smurfs, and The Sisters from Papercutz.

LibraryPass’ John Shableski sat down [remotely] with Terry Nantier to discuss his imprints’ history with comics and libraries, important backlist titles, and notable new releases.

We’re honored to be able to offer a broad selection of NBM and Papercutz titles in ComicsPlus that will give readers of every age a wonderful entry point into the diverse world of comics, graphic novels, and manga!
